About Boot the Owl - Electric Blues Experience!

"Boot the Owl" is an upstate NY, Capital-area, electric blues band fronted by Robin Lamb since January 2002 that is sure to blow you away!  Originally formed in 2000 when various members of the "Mojo Magic" band joined forces with Steve Lamb, formerly of "Tequila Mockingbird". Since the band's inception in early 2000, the band has picked up speed, adding bass player Andy Gallo(C.R.U.M.B.S.), and Pete Swank on keys.  This band exploits a combination of creative license and vocal style across a variety of musical styles, including but not limited to Blues, Rock, Gospel, Motown, Pop, Funk.  This band is truly an "Electric Blues Experience" for the musicians as well as the audience!

Why is the band called "Boot the Owl"?

The name Boot the Owl originated as an inside joke between band members during a rehearsal one night. The story goes, some of the guys from the band Mojo Magic and the band Tequila Mockingbird, where brainstorming to come up with a new name to call themselves. The conversation strayed to a previous band member who used to hold rehearsals at his house. There was also a feeling in the air of excitement and anticipation of what was to come, now that there were new people in the band… One of the guys started re-telling the story of how he had accidentaly kicked a ceramic owl that belonged to this ex-band member's wife, shattering it to pieces. The offer was made to pay for the damage, but instead the whole incident was quickly covered up by digging a hole in the back yard and burying the evidence. The ex-band member insisted that his wife had way too many owls, and she would never notice this one was missing. That's when someone interupted the story said, "We should call the band Boot the Owl!" Everyone laughed about it, and after another two weeks with no luck name searching, it stuck. The band still gets a chuckle out of it…
