I have played since the mid 1970's
in rock, pop, country, reggae, and blues. I've also contributed
to various project bands, been a part of a thousand jams,
recorded here and there, and composed a little bit.
Although classically trained in piano,
and shunning that for rock, it wasn't until 1972 that I bought
my first synthesizer, and I've been hooked ever since. I can't
even imagine the amount of gear I've gone
through. (Probably would have been interesting to keep a list
-- then again, it probably would not be good to see how much
I've spent!)
The longer I live, the less sure of what eclectic influences
were the most powerful: classical, jazz, rock, country, or
pop? But all of those styles and all of the great players
have influenced my playing, mattering not if it was a piano,
organ, or some other keyboard such as an accordion or synthesizer
that made me feel good just to listen.
